Arboretum

Hello all! As some of you know I have been super busy with the Greek college courses the last number of weeks. It has been a lot of work but fun! However, I haven't had has much time to blog. Anyways finals are over now and I am looking forward to having more time to share with you all!
Last Wednesday we visited an Arboretum in Madison with some friends. And if you do not know what an Arboretum is I will enlighten you (just so you all know I didn't know what it was until recently) Basically it means " a botanical garden devoted to trees."
It was beautiful there! I especially loved the flowers. I hope that you enjoy the pictures and have a blessed weekend. Have you been anywhere lately where you have seen God's handiwork in nature?

Friend photography

Hello everyone! My name is Marta.
Karis and I met at a Home school Family Camp last year
and now we keep in touch through our pictures.
I just wanted to say thank you to Karis for inviting me to do a blog post.

Each photo says a little bit about where I took the picture.
I hope you enjoy them and are reminded of how magnificent our Creator is!!

Smartphone Photography!

Hi all!
So this past Sunday we visited a marsh and nature preserve. It is bird migrating time so we went to find any interesting birds. Here are some pictures that I captured on a smartphone (since I forgot the camera :P)
There is a driving route along some of the marshes that we took that was about 3 miles long. We stopped and had a picnic part way through. :) My favorite part however was probably going on the floating boardwalk. You can feel it move under you, especially when it is windy (like it was on Sunday)  On the boardwalk there were quite a few birds and my parents even spotted a turtle. So yeah here are a few pictures from our day there. Have you ever been to a marsh to look for birds? How have you seen aspects of God's creation today?

Mathew 6:25:24
“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? "

I thought this was a neat picture! Do  you see the silhouette of the bird?
I am not quite sure how it turned out like this. :)

There is a bird in this picture, sitting on a branch.

This one is sitting atop a dead tree

Leaves starting to pop out!

I hope that you enjoyed the pictures! :)

My Animals :)

Hi everyone!

Just for fun I thought I would include some pictures of some of our animals. While I unfortunately don't have pictures of ALL the animals that we currently have or have had, here are some that I found. The animals that I don't have pictures of include my sisters gerbil named Reepicheep (think Chronicles of Narnia) and another one  which recently died named Rizzo (From Muppet Christmas Carol)  We also have some more chickens, and we used to have a parakeet. As you can probably tell, a couple of these pictures where taken in previous years.

 Anyways, enough of my ramblings. I hope that you enjoy the pictures :)

This chicken is Carmel Chocolate (CC for short)

Here is my rooster (who unfortunately died) named Charcoal.

And this is Hashbrown (named by my brother) She likes to take dust baths next to the garage which my dad does not approve of.

And here is my doggy!

Do you have any animals? If so, comment down below.
I hope that you enjoyed the pictures! Have a great rest of your day.

Happy April!

Happy April everyone! I have a couple pictures and a poem to start out this new month.

Recently I went on a search for some greenery. While everything is mostly still brown I did find this bright green moss in the backyard.

Bark from the pear trees.

Here is a poem about April I thought you might enjoy.

  April's Charms by William Henry Davies
When April scatters charms of primrose gold

Among the copper leaves in thickets old,

And singing skylarks from the meadows rise,

To twinkle like black stars in sunny skies;

When I can hear the small woodpecker ring
Time on a tree for all the birds that sing;
And hear the pleasant cuckoo, loud and long --
The simple bird that thinks two notes a song;

When I can hear the woodland brook, that could
Not drown a babe, with all his threatening mood;
Upon these banks the violets make their home,
And let a few small strawberry vlossoms come:

When I go forth on such a pleasant day,
One breath outdoors takes all my cares away;
It goes like heavy smoke, when flames take hold
Of wood that's green and fill a grate with gold.

Have a great rest of the day!

Ice

Hello my friends!
I know it has been way to long since I have written. My life is pretty full right now, but good. :) How have you been?
Today there was freezing rain/ice. Looking out of my bedroom this morning I noticed how cool the trees were covered in ice.  I went out with the camera and here are some of the pictures I came back with! Hopefully the ice doesn't harm the buds that are on some of the trees.

If you haven't guessed I really enjoy taking pictures of water (in all of it's forms). I think God's handiwork is especially portrayed through ice. All of the intricate patterns are amazing! Have you noticed anything that God has made complex patterns? If so, comment down below!

Job 28:25-27
"When He imparted weight to the wind And meted out the waters by measure, When He set a limit for the rain And a course for the thunderbolt, Then He saw it and declared it; He established it and also searched it out"

Do you see the intricate patterns I was talking about?

Have a joy filled day!
